Absolutely No . . .

Spam: a.k.a. spamming, unsolicited advertising of any type, junk messages or mail, unapproved promotions, any type of unsolicited cyber garbage. Basically trying to get a free ride and make a buck off of others efforts and or trusting nature.

Or Slamming: a.k.a. flaming, being rude, impolite or basically being a jerk to other people, cursing or otherwise being out of line. Remember, this is a family oriented site and we want you to feel free to let your children surf this site without worry.

Or Free Ads hidden in posted messages! (this falls under the No SPAM guidlines)

What exactly is SPAM?!?!?!

Here is an example . . . Have you ever seen a message or got an e-mail that said . . . .

"Turn $6 into 6,000 in just 10 days!!!"

OR

"Awesome affordable insert spam product here available at www.whateverspamwebsite.com"

Or something very similar?

Yeah, you and 47,000,000 other internet users . . .this will not be tolerated on TX-Outdoors Message boards. It uses bandwidth, causes our readers to have to sift through this junk, and uses space on TX-Outdoors servers, which has a dollar value. If you post this kind of garbage, we can and will trace your post, contact your ISP and report your SPAMMING practices.

We've seen them all . . . that's the type of stuff we, as webmasters, have to clean up.

That's part of the friendly service you receive when you visit Tx-Outdoors. As TX-Outdoors guest we want you to enjoy "junk free" message boards. You do should not have to worry about the cleanup . . . if only email was so easy.....

What can you do to help discourage this type of activity on this board? Simple . . . Ignore it. Board Admin aka "The Enforcer" will come through and delete unwanted posts. if you want, email board admin, or the board moderator  and alert them.

That said, there are some things that are considered "border-line SPAM" . . . Like someone providing a link to another web site or e-mail and phone number to a service. The Enforcer will look at the purpose of the message . . . is it part of a response to another readers question? or is just a blatant link to a "Resource" or to a commercial site / company simply wanting to take advantage of "your" board to advertise? Was it posted by a board regular who was trying to help by providing info? or was it posted by the owner or representative of the product/site? We will consider each case, but any posts seen as commercial will be deleted without apology or warning.

All "Resources" are checked for their validity and usefulness to this site. We provide a "Related Links Page" and expect everyone to use the provided Add URL Form to get listed on these pages. This is to allow us to verify the quality of the product and or service to help insure that you will not get hosed around here!

There are many cons on the net - from hunting ranch scams to tumbleweeds for sale - we simple don't need that to interfere with our hunting/fishing discussions.

All hunting, fishing and general outdoors related info will be allowed, like maybe a pup or two or a fishing pole here and there, but NO commercial activity on this board. We provide a separate place to display your products and or services. . .it costs us money to provide the services we provide, and we offer many fair packages and options for you to advertise your products through TX-Outdoors. Something for nothing? Thats not really the "American Way"....

We fully understand that outdoorsmen need a place to swap the resources that go with the stories and answers to the questions on the boards. So . . .  If anyone feels like doing a little tradin', simply click on one of the many categories in the Tx-Outdoors Classifieds

There are a lot of different categories there for you to choose from and it will be a free service until further notice. Don't abuse it and it's free to use it . . .

It's considered kosher to tell a fellow hunter where to get gear that is essential to this sport if it can't be purchased from the host of a message board. (Tx-Outdoors Gear Bag)

Good Example:

Hunting Last Night,  Bill in Texas, 10/10/98 12:00 p.m.

"Me & Jr. got Mr. Toothy Boar in a corn field last night and only had to stitch one mutt . . . The cut vest I used came from  *Name here*  . . . I added his web link to the Wild Boar Hunting Links Page if anyone is interested."

Bad Example:

Great New Dog Site, Spammer, in Cyberspace 10/10/98 12:00 p.m.

"Visit My Dog Sniff Site at www.getyourdogsniffhere.com"

See the difference? Mr. Dog Sniff is looking for free ad space and making this board a maintenance headache (and load much slower if not removed) . . . wasting your time and ours.
